Health Information Technology

CAHIT Structure

A combination of DSU faculty, outreach services staff, graduate assistants, and undergraduate students will combine to create a statewide resource center to provide coordination to regional and statewide health information exchange (HIE) initiatives.

The South Dakota eHealth Collaborative will act as an advisory board to guide the education and research activities of the Center. The eHealth Collaborative includes representatives from across the health care industry.

Mission

The Center for Advancement of Health Information Technology will work for the benefit of all SD healthcare stakeholders by identifying opportunities for improvements to healthcare quality and system wide cost savings in SD. As a core activity, CAHIT will operationalize the long range plan of the South Dakota eHealth Collaborative to facilitate implementing interoperable information technology to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of healthcare in South Dakota.
